Venaseal
Venaseal is a new treatment that uses medical adhesive to glue the veins closed. The glue is introduced through a catheter directly into the vein. No heat means there is no requirement for local anaesthetic injections and there is less chance of local nerve injury. Immediate closure means that there is no requirement for post procedure compression stockings.
Venaseal is not the solution for all veins, but is a great alternative treatment when used in appropriate circumstances. A specialist will be able to advise you on whether this highly effective novel treatment is suitable.

Some health insurers do not reimburse the full cost of treatment by Venaseal and it may require additional funding. Discuss this with your specialist and your insurer.
